Illinois State Credit Union was founded in 1960 to serve employees of Illinois State University. We now serve more than 12,000 of your closest friends and neighbors who live or work in McLean, Logan, DeWitt, Livingston, Stephenson, Winnebago, or LaSalle County.
We are federally insured. Federally insured credit unions are regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 increased the share insurance coverage on all federally insured credit union accounts up to $250,000.

Credit unions are not-for-profit organizations that exist to serve their members rather than to maximize corporate profits. Like banks, credit unions accept deposits and make loans. Banks and savings & loans are owned by groups of stockholders whose interests include earning a healthy return on their investments. Credit unions, on the other hand, are member owned, so they have your interests in mind, not the interests of a small group of investors. Since Illinois State Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution, after expenses are paid and reserves are set aside, surplus earnings are returned to you, the member, in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest rates on savings, and free or low-cost services.

The ATM deposits are not available due to system maintenance. Our RDC and night drop is available for members to use until the maintenance is complete.

The Board of Directors provides direction on long-range objectives, determines policy, and monitors the progress of the Credit Union. The Board is comprised of Illinois State Credit Union members, who are elected for one-year terms as unpaid volunteers.
Illinois State Credit Union is looking for credit union members who are interested in volunteering their time and talents on the Board of Directors. The time commitment is approximately three hours per month. Regular meetings are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month.
